The Verizon iPhone (You knew this was coming)

Source: Engadget

Now since i am a big android fan i was iffy on deciding whether i should talk about the Verizon iPhone or not. I have had my Motorola Droid (Overclocked & Rooted running Cyanogen Mod 6) for over a year now and still love it. In my opinion, the ever-changing open source greatness that is the android OS is superior to the stale iphone OS. Buuuuut, that's not what this post is about so on to the iPhone. I am on the Verizon and like others, know it is better than AT&T. It's about time they finally put the iPhone on Verizon. But not only is it being put on the network, some of the hardware and software is also getting a few upgrades of itself. Some of the new features are:
  • Personal Hotspot (Set up your on WiFi modem)
  • Mute and Volume Controls slightly shifted
  • Obviously better sound reception and quality
There is not any drastic changes from the AT&T model, but it's a cool little upgrade from it. I am definitely not gonna go out and buy this brick phone, but maybe you are into the iPhone and will!

I hope this wasn't too biased ;)

  1. my friend is an apple freak and called me immediately when he heard the news that iphone was going to be on his service soon. i really don't get the whole 'apple brand loyalty' thing.

  2. Yeah, I will never buy products from apple, iphones, ipods, ipads, or anything else. Mainly because I disagree with the companies stance on issues like DRM and exclusivity of software. Also it just seems stupid to buy an iphone if it can't play flash, or an ipod if i can only use itunes and synch it with one computer. Why limit myself when other comparable or better players / phones don't suffer from such limitations. Even if you can hack the iphone or ipod to fix these issues, I couldn't be bothered.
